Donation is part of Timequest Events' Smile On The Face charity drive

DUBAI – A business group yesterday gave free iftar meals to thousands of laborers in Al Quoz. Aside from the meal packs, Timequest Events also gave bags to the workers that each contained toiletries (handwash, shampoo and a bar of soap) as part of the company's Smile On The Face initiative. The charity drive is on its sixth year. Timequest Events managing director Uttam Kumar pointed out that "giving something is not just about making a donation, it is about making a difference." "These people are always contributing in developing and cleaning the city. Therefore, they should be recognised for their hard work. The time we spend with laborers makes a huge difference in their lives," Kumar said. Kumar also said he and Timequest Events as well as several UAE-based firms including Al Mashreq Bank and Dubai Investment have contributed to the charity drive every year for the past six years. "Every Friday during Ramadan, we will provide iftar meals to laborers in camps in Dubai and in Sharjah," said Kumar, adding that "anyone can volunteer through the Smile On The Face Facebook page."
