Titans Dubai Dragonboat Team delivered a powerful showing at the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Challenge in Dubai, securing two podium finishes in competitive dragon boat racing. Held on January 24 and 25 at Jewel of the Creek in Dubai, the two-day regatta brought together elite crews for high-intensity racing and cultural exchange. The event was organised by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Dubai, in partnership with Siren Dragonboat. Titans Dubai emerged as one of the competition’s strongest teams, winning gold in the Premier Mixed Category and silver in the Premier Open Category—a result that reflected disciplined preparation, resilience, and strong team chemistry. "The gold-medal race proved especially challenging. Under the guidance of coach Bhot Dote, the Titans lined up with only eight pairs of paddlers instead of the standard ten, placing the team at a numerical disadvantage from the outset," Titans Dubai told Expat Media, adding that "despite this, the crew held its rhythm and power throughout the race," delivering what many described as one of the most composed and impressive performances of the regatta. Beyond medals, the event also highlighted the continued growth of dragon boat racing in the UAE, a sport largely driven by the passion and commitment of Filipino-led paddlers. Teams like Titans Dubai have played a key role in nurturing this community, promoting the sport locally, and encouraging new athletes to take part. The team also acknowledged the support of Philippine Consul General in Dubai Ambrosio Brian Enciso, whose presence at the event boosted morale and strengthened the sense of pride in representing the Filipino community on an international sporting stage. Looking ahead, Titans Dubai Dragonboat Team is opening its doors to new paddlers. The team welcomes individuals with or without prior experience and is offering free trial sessions for those interested in learning the sport and joining a competitive yet supportive crew.
