Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise is in Abu Dhabi for the Middle East premier of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One on Monday (June 26). The highly anticipated installment will premiere at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental. It will be released to the public starting on July 13. At the new Midfield Terminal at Abu Dhabi International Airport, Cruise unveiled the custom livery on an Etihad Airways Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Etihad, the official airline of the movie, will carry its custom Mission: Impossible livery on its aircraft. Midfield Terminal was also decorated with a similar theme. The roof of the airport terminal was where one of the movie’s action scenes was shot. Shooting at the Midfield Terminal required 21 days of preparation and seven days of filming by a cast and crew of 767 people. “The scenes showcased in the movie are a testament to the architecture, scale and design of the iconic Midfield Terminal, which is inspired by the cultural elements of Abu Dhabi,” said Elena Sorlini, Acting CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports. Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One also features purpose-built sets at the airport, including an Etihad First Class Lounge, as well as scenes set in the stunning Liwa Desert.
