What does mark on toothpaste tube really say?  Here’s what the Dubai Municipality says

DUBAI – Is that colour code on your toothpaste tube really a warning indicator? The Dubai Municipality issued a clarification on the matter recently. According to the widely circulated rumour, the strip of colour that you find at the bottom of a toothpaste tube marks the kind of chemical components that can be found in the product: black for pure chemical, red for natural and chemical, blue for natural and medicinal and green for natural components. Is this really true? Not at all, according to the Public Health and Safety Department. Marwan Al Mohammad, director of the Public Health and Safety Department, dismissed it as a baseless claim, saying that all consumer products available in Dubai have been tested as safe for use. He also urged the public to refrain from spreading false information. The colour codes are actually part of the manufacturing process where the code signals the machine that the tube is full and can be cut at that point. Similar colour-coded marks can be seen in products like milk packets, sachets and others.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
