Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has unveiled an ambitious rural development plan for Dubai that includes five major projects to enhance tourism, lifestyle, and public services. Here’s a breakdown of the key initiatives under this plan:

1. Saih Al Salam Scenic Route

The Saih Al Salam Scenic Route is the crown jewel of the master plan, designed to boost tourist visits from 500,000 annually to over three million by 2040. The project will introduce five new tourist stations, offering cycling tracks, walking trails, and an array of recreational activities.

2. Al Qudra Lakes Hub Station

Al Qudra Lakes will be transformed into a tourist hotspot with luxury tents, a traditional market, and an open-air cinema. Visitors will be able to explore the desert through kayak tours, enjoy elevated walking trails, and camp in luxurious marquees near the heart-shaped Love Lakes.

3. Adventure Station at Expo 2020 Lake

The Adventure Station near Expo 2020 Lake will include a brand-new adventure park featuring fitness trails and a cycling path. Budget-friendly camping and a range of outdoor activities, such as sandboarding and desert safaris, will also be available.

4. Cultural Experience Station in Al Marmoom

This station will offer visitors a taste of traditional Emirati culture, featuring camel rides, traditional meals, and entertainment in a beautifully designed majlis at the camel farm. The area will also host cultural events such as poetry recitations and performances.

5. Expansion of public services

To support these developments, the plan includes 18 new services for rural residents, including parks, healthcare facilities, and nurseries. Internal roads will be built to connect these stations, and public transport options will be expanded to provide easy access to all rural areas. ICA/Expat Media
