Swedish head chef based in Dubai has passed away after being critically injured in an attack in London on Monday. Mussie Imnetu, 41, head chef at The Brasserie in Dubai’s The Arts Club, was in London on business when he was found unconscious with a severe head injury in Queensway, near the Notting Hill Carnival. He was immediately taken to a hospital, where he fought for his life. Days after the attack, his friends and colleagues confirmed the news of his passing on social media on Saturday. A 31-year-old man from Newham has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody at a South London police station. It was reported that there were customers at the scene who attempted to intervene. Police are urging them and others who witnessed the incident to provide any details that could help with the investigation. Imnetu was a Swedish national living in Dubai who worked as the head chef at The Brasserie in The Arts Club Dubai. He previously held positions at top London restaurants, including Oblix at The Shard and The Savoy Grill. According to The Arts Club Dubai’s website, he also trained under world-renowned chefs, including Gordon Ramsay. FLE/Expat Media
