Tourists arriving in the UAE will no longer need to wait in long lines for biometrics and iris scans by using a new app that allows them to quickly pass through smart gates and clear immigration in just seconds. The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) launched a new app, UAE Pass Track, first implemented at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi about two weeks ago, during the Gitex Global exhibition at the Dubai World Trade Centre. UAE Fast Track is a mobile app that enables tourists to register before arriving in the UAE. Once registered, they can utilise smart gates, allowing them to skip the queues. Currently, most passengers at Zayed International Airport are using the app. According to ICP, they are planning to expand its availability to airports in Dubai and Sharjah. UAE residents registered with the ICP and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) can use this app to access smart gates and clear immigration upon arrival or departure at airports. The new app is expected to save time and reduce hassle for millions of tourists visiting the UAE in the future. The app is currently available for both Android and Apple platforms. FLE/Expat Media
