Travel through Ras Al Khor in 7 minutes instead of 20 minutes with new Dubai road project

A new Dubai road project is going to make travel time quicker on Ras Al Khor Road, slashing the journey time from 20 minutes to just seven minutes, according to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on Sunday (August 7). The Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Corridor Improvement Project is now 75 percent complete, according to RTA. The project will increase the road’s capacity to 10,000 vehicles per hour. The project extends 8km along the Ras Al Khor Road from the intersection of Dubai-Al Ain Road to that of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road. Works include construction of bridges extending 2km, widening Ras Al Khor Road from three to four lanes in each direction, and building two-lane service roads on both sides. The project is expected to benefit residents of International City, Dubai Creek Harbour, The Lagoons, Meydan Horizon, Ras Al Khor, Al Wasl, and Nad Al Hamar Complex. ICA/Expat Media
