Travelers arriving in Abu Dhabi from India to quarantine for 12 days

  DUBAI – Passengers arriving in Abu Dhabi on flights from India and countries on the restricted list must undergo a 12-day quarantine, according to Etihad as it reiterated Covid-19 guidelines for people flying from restricted countries to the UAE capital. The countries on the UAE's restricted list are India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Uganda and Nigeria. According to Etihad, the passengers will be required to wear a quarantine wristband during the 12-day period. This is part of the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee’s updated measures. The wristband will be provided to passengers after they clear immigration at Abu Dhabi Airport. Passengers will be required to take a PCR test on arrival, and also on their sixth and eleventh day in the emirate. Meanwhile, vaccinated travellers from green list countries are not required to undergo quarantine but must take a PCR test on arrival and a further test on their sixth day. Authorities last week announced exemptions on a travel ban on passengers from six restricted countries. These include UAE residence visa holders who are students, teachers, medical workers and government employees. They must have a valid UAE residence permit and proof of receiving both doses of a Covid-19 vaccine in the UAE no less than 14 days before their flight.

Rules for expats returning to Dubai

Those traveling to Dubai from restricted countries, including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal do not need a Covid-19 vaccination certificate, according to Emirates. According to Emirates, passengers with valid UAE residence visa and permit from the General Directorate for Residency and Foreigners Affairs can return to Dubai from restricted countries. Passengers must have a valid Covid-19 test certificate issued within 48 hours from certified labs that issue a QR code linked to the original report. Passengers must complete a Covid-19 PCR rapid test four hours before their flight, and then take another PCR test on arrival in Dubai. ICA/Expat Media
