Warning issued amid intel reports that Pyongyang has made miniature nuke warheads

  WASHINGTON – US President Donald Trump has warned North Korea not to make any more threats to the US or Pyongyang will "be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen. Trump issued the threat after US intelligence analysts reported that North Korea has manufactured a miniature nuclear warhead that can fit into intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs), according to several sources knowledgeable with analysis of Pyongyang's missile and nuclear program. The sources however said such capability has not yet been tested. The analysis made by the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) was first reported by The Washington Post. "North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States. They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen... he (referring to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un) has been very threatening beyond a normal state. They will be met with fire, fury and frankly power the likes of which this world has never seen before," Trump said in a press conference-photo op at the Trump National Golf Club in New Jersey on Tuesday. A US official familiar with North Korea's missile and nuclear program told CNN that Kim Jong Un had boasted about the program and has not shown any indication of turning back so "we have to take his word for it and be prepared to deal with it." The official also said the assessment is continuing and will be refined and updated once imore intelligence is gathered. If there is anything officials agree on is that North Korea is making progress in its missile and nuclear program and the question now is when is Pyongyang is capable of launching a nuclear capable missile. The miniature nuclear warhead had been mentioned by Admiral Harry Harris, the head of the US Pacific Command (PACOM), last June. He said in Australia: "I know there's some debate about the miniaturization advancements made by Pyongyang. But PACOM must be prepared to fight tonight, so I take him at his word. I must assume his claims are true -- I know his aspirations certainly are." The UN Security Council unaninously passed a resolution imposing tougher sanctions on North Korea over its missile tests last month. The sanction targeted Pyongyang's exports and funding streams such as banks and joint ventures with foreign companies. Trump welcomed the passage of the resolution and pointed out that it was even supported by Russia and China. China is an ally of North Korea.
