The UAE helped in the arrest of 387 most wanted individuals and helped solved 521 money laundering cases, according to the Ministry of Interior on Monday (August 14). The collaboration between the UAE and international law enforcement agencies led to the confiscation of over Dh4 billion in the past two years, according to the ministry. “This highlights the nation's integrated approach and is aligned with the UAE's strong stance against crime and the promotion of a safe society," according to the Ministry of Interior. In January, the UAE helped arrest the world's most wanted human trafficker, Kidane Zekarias Habtemariam, following a 9-month global operation. Earlier this year, Jurgen Stock, Secretary-General of Interpol, said that more than 9,000 most wanted criminals were arrested in 195 countries with the help of UAE police. Stock said the suspects were involved in financial crimes, which resulted in losses worth more than Dh6.19 billion. ICA/Expat Media
