For families in Gaza who have endured months of hunger, fear, and uncertainty, the sound of aircraft engines overhead on Wednesday (August 20) brought something rare: hope. The UAE carried out its 76th humanitarian airdrop of aid to the Gaza Strip as part of ongoing efforts to support Palestinians facing dire conditions. Children watched wide-eyed as packages landed across open spaces, while residents clutched food parcels with relief, knowing their families would have something to eat that night. For many, these supplies meant more than just meals—they meant survival. The latest operation on Wednesday under the “Birds of Goodness” initiative of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, was carried out in cooperation with Jordan and with the participation of Germany, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Singapore, and Indonesia. The shipment included essential food supplies prepared with the support of Emirati charitable institutions to help address urgent needs in Gaza. With this airdrop, the total aid delivered by air under the UAE-led operation has now surpassed 4,020 tonnes, reaffirming the country’s commitment to alleviating suffering in crisis zones. “These initiatives highlight the UAE’s pioneering role in international relief efforts, mobilising regional and global cooperation, and reinforcing the nation’s humanitarian values,” officials said in a statement. ICA/Expat Media
