Good news for UAE drivers: keeping your record clean has never been this simple—or this rewarding. On August 25, the Ministry of Interior, in coordination with police forces nationwide, is bringing back its flagship safety campaign, “A Day Without Accidents.” The goal? Safer roads, happier drivers, and fewer black points on your license. Here’s how it works: On the Ministry of Interior's website, motorists who sign a pledge promising to drive responsibly on August 25—and manage to keep it violation-free—will have four black points automatically erased from their record by September 15. No service center visits, no paperwork, no stress. The Ministry of Interior reminded motorists of the basics: • Keep a safe distance from the car ahead. • Always give way to pedestrians. • Buckle up, no excuses. • Stick to the speed limit. • Hands off your phone while driving. • Give way to emergency and service vehicles. “By making this pledge, you are helping to ensure the safety of all road users and create a safer community,” the Ministry said in a statement, calling the campaign a community-wide effort to cut down accidents. To sweeten the deal, participants will also receive a certificate of participation by email. Just remember: only four black points can be cleared under the initiative, and the reward applies if you play by the rules.
