The UAE has intensified its humanitarian response for communities affected by the recent earthquake in southern Philippines, with a high-level delegation reviewing relief operations and assessing the needs of displaced families in Sarangani Province. According to the UAE Embassy in Manila, the UAE response team visited shelters housing earthquake-affected residents and inspected operations at a field hospital established to provide emergency medical assistance. The visit formed part of the UAE's ongoing relief efforts in General Santos City and neighbouring areas of Sarangani Province, where communities continue to recover from the impact of the earthquake. During the visit, officials evaluated living conditions in temporary shelters and identified priority requirements among affected residents. The team also reviewed medical services being provided through the field hospital, assessed patient needs and coordinated measures to accelerate the delivery of humanitarian assistance. Relief efforts have included the distribution of food supplies, essential items and emergency aid to affected communities. The UAE has been working to ensure that support reaches vulnerable families as quickly as possible while helping local authorities address immediate humanitarian challenges.

Mohamed Obaid Al Qattam Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to the Philippines, said the mission reflects the UAE's longstanding commitment to supporting communities affected by natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies. “The visit is part of the UAE's ongoing humanitarian efforts to support those affected by the earthquake and reflects its longstanding approach of extending assistance to peoples impacted by disasters and humanitarian crises,” Al Zaabi said. He said the UAE remains committed to providing practical assistance and supporting international humanitarian efforts aimed at alleviating suffering and helping affected communities recover. Authorities said the UAE has diversified its support to include emergency food aid, essential supplies and other forms of humanitarian assistance designed to help reduce the impact of the disaster on affected residents.
