The UAE has resumed normal air traffic operations across its airspace following the lifting of temporary precautionary measures, according to the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). In a statement issued on Saturday (May 2), the Authority said the decision came after a comprehensive evaluation of operational and security conditions, conducted in coordination with relevant authorities. Officials confirmed that while normal operations have resumed, continuous real-time monitoring remains in place to maintain the highest standards of aviation safety and to respond swiftly to any development. The Authority expressed appreciation for the cooperation shown by passengers and airlines during the precautionary period, noting that technical and operational teams remain fully prepared. It also advised the public to rely on official sources for updates related to air travel. The GCAA first imposed a closure of UAE airspace on February 28, as an "exceptional precautionary measure" following Iranian strikes that prompted airspace restrictions and flight suspensions across parts of the Middle East. In March, the GCAA allowed the resumption of limited flights across the country, with priority for repatriation flights and flights carrying stranded travelers. CAM/Expat Media
