UAE allows travel to 12 African countries previously on red list
DUBAI – Fully vaccinated Emiratis can now travel to 12 African countries after the UAE removed a travel ban early this week. The 12 countries are Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Republic of Congo, South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia and Zimbabwe. Only fully vaccinated Emiratis who have received a booster dose will be allowed to travel to the 12 countries, according to UAE authorities. The easing of travel restrictions comes after the General Civil Aviation Authority and the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Emergency Management Authority lifted the travel curb on Sunday (February 6). Travel exemptions are granted to unvaccinated Emiratis who are medically exempt from getting vaccinated, as well as humanitarian cases and those traveling for treatment. Authorities urged Emirati travelers to adhere to all preventative measures and health guidelines, including social distancing, wearing face masks, and regular handwashing.
