Amnesty seekers in the UAE can benefit from discounted airline tickets as part of the grace period for visa overstayers. This initiative, set to run for two months, is a collaboration between the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) and various national and international airlines. The ICP has confirmed that meetings were held with several airlines to ensure they are prepared to offer reduced fares for those looking to return to their home countries during the amnesty period until October 30. This initiative aims to support individuals who wish to leave the UAE or regularize their residency status without facing hefty penalties. Speaking to Expat Media, online travel agency Travelwings.com confirmed that it is offering discounted airfares to amnesty grantees as part of its commitment to "helping give people a fresh start". “Once the amnesty application is approved, the certificate shall be honored ,” according to Travelwings.com. Dubai-based Angel Wings International Tourism also confirmed to Expat Media that it is offering discounted tickets to amnesty seekers. “We have a direct relationship with the airline, allowing us to secure special rates for those in need. To avail of the discounted tickets, simply provide a valid amnesty document or proof of eligibility when booking your ticket,” Angel Wings International Tourism said in a statement to Expat Media. The amnesty period allows overstayers to amend their residency status by submitting requests through ICP's electronic channels or at approved typing offices. Biometric fingerprinting may be required for some, but individuals are advised not to visit service centres unless instructed. ICA/Expat Media
