The amnesty help desk at the Indian consulate in Dubai will be open on Sunday (October 27), the mission announced on Friday (October 25). In a post on X, the consulate announced that the help desk will be available from 8am to 5pm to help overstaying expats with their applications for the UAE amnesty programme, which began on September 1. The Embassy said that Indian expats can visit any BLS center in Abu Dhabi, as well as the missions in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, without a prior appointment to obtain emergency certificates (ECs). As of September 28, the consulate operating from its office and in Al Awir had assisted over 4,000 amnesty seekers. It granted 500 exit permits, issued 600 passports, and provided 800 ECs. The two-month amnesty period ends on October 31. The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) has announced that there will be no extension of the program. After the deadline, stricter measures will be enforced, including deportations and an entry ban on violators until they pay their fines.
