UAE authorities announced on Saturday (May 20) details about a Dh8,400 financial support to be given to low-income farm owners. The annual subsidy is intended to help them with their utility bills and will be rolled out in July. Beneficiaries of the annual electricity assistance must be low-income Emirati farm owners registered in a federal or local social welfare programme. The farms should not be used for commercial purposes, and applicants should not be beneficiaries of additional support for electricity consumption on any of their farms. Applicants can register on the website of the Ministry of Community Development. An SMS will also be sent out along with a link to an application form. The Ministry of Community Development will validate the approved list of beneficiaries on a monthly basis. The subsidy will be paid directly to Etihad Water and Electricity and will be deducted from the monthly electricity bill of the beneficiary. ICA/Expat Media
