UAE announces Eid Al Fitr will begin on Friday

The UAE will begin Eid Al Fitr on Friday (April 21), according to the UAE Moon-Sighting Committee. This came after the committee spotted the crescent moon on Thursday evening, which means that Thursday will be the 29th and final day of Ramadan. Eid Al Fitr will begin on Friday, marking the end of the month-long fasting period for Muslims. For UAE public and private sector employees, the paid public holiday already began on Thursday, with work to resume on Monday. ICA/Expat Media
