UAE authorities have announced September 29 as a public holiday to mark the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It will be a paid public holiday for private sector employees, according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. Employees in UAE ministries and federal entities will also have a paid public holiday on September 29, according to the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources. UAE residents can expect a long weekend since September 29 falls on Friday, and is followed by the country’s regular weekend. The next holidays will be on December 2 and 3 for UAE National Day, which falls on a Saturday and Sunday, respectively. ICA/Expat Media
