A young Arab motorist has been ordered to pay Dh200,000 blood money for running over a woman and causing her death. According to records, the young man jumped the red light in Khor Fakkan and ran over two women, one of whom died from her injuries. The Khor Fakkan Court of Appeals found the motorist guilty of causing the woman’s death, causing injury to the woman and failing to stop at a red light. He pleaded guilty to all charges. Apart from the blood money, he will also pay an additional fine of Dh5,000. The court, however, suspended his jail term for one year. ICA/Expat Media
