The UAE Ministry of Interior has announced the arrest of Vitalie Pîrlog, a Moldovan national and former Chairperson of the Interpol Commission for the Control of Files (CCF), who was wanted on multiple corruption charges. Pîrlog was arrested on June 15 in the UAE, following an active Red Notice issued by Interpol at the request of French authorities. He is facing charges including forgery, bribery mediation, and fraud. The arrest was carried out in collaboration with international and regional law enforcement partners, highlighting the UAE’s role in global efforts to fight transnational crime and uphold community safety. French authorities praised the UAE’s swift and professional action. “This coordinated arrest underscores the importance of international cooperation in combating global crime,” the French statement read.
