Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi is expected to reach Earth on September 3, according to the Dubai-based Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC). Al Neyadi will have completed his six-month mission, becoming the first Arab astronaut to go on the longest Arab space mission onboard the International Space Station (ISS). The SpaceX Dragon spacecraft carrying Al Neyadi and crew is slated to undock from the ISS on September 2, and is expected to splashdown off the coast of Florida in the US on September 3. Since arriving in the ISS on March 3, Al Neyadi has conducted more than 200 scientific experiments, including one that analyses how his immune system will respond to space flight. Samples of Al Neyadi’s DNA were collected aboard the ISS, and also when he returns to Earth. The experiment is aimed at improving our knowledge of viral infections on Earth and space. ICA/Expat Media
