Motorists across the UAE have a chance to wipe four black points from their driving record—simply by pledging to drive safely on August 25. The Ministry of Interior, in coordination with police forces nationwide, has relaunched its flagship road safety campaign, “A Day Without Accidents”, aimed at promoting responsible driving. Authorities said the reward system is meant to encourage safer roads and reduce the risk of accidents. To participate, drivers must sign a safety pledge through the Ministry’s official website before August 25, committing to follow traffic laws. Those who record no violations on that day will have four black points automatically removed from their licence by September 15, 2025, without the need to visit a service centre. The Ministry urged motorists to wear seatbelts, follow speed limits, maintain safe distances from other vehicles, avoid distractions such as mobile phone use, and yield to emergency vehicles and official convoys. The initiative coincides with the launch of the quarterly campaign “A Safe School Year”, also starting August 25—the first day of the new academic year.
