The number of severe and fatal accidents in Fujairah has dropped from January to August. An official from the Fujairah Police stated that the decrease in accidents could be attributed to drivers' heightened awareness. Recent statistics issued by the traffic department show that four people died and 99 have been injured in 7,517 accidents during the first eight months. The Traffic and Patrols Department has launched campaigns to educate students and drivers on traffic awareness. The goal is to reduce accidents by educating road users and pedestrians about the importance of following traffic rules. The official said that most of the accidents were due to the overspeeding of vehicles. Authorities are now working with key allies to inspect and enhance transportation infrastructures like roads and sidewalks. BKM/ Expat Media
