UAE authorities warn Netflix over offensive content

UAE authorities have warned Netflix over some content that violates media broadcasting regulations in the country. The UAE Media Regulatory Office and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority jointly released the statement. "It has recently been noticed that the Netflix platform has broadcast some visual content that violates media broadcasting regulations in the UAE and contradicts societal values in the country," the statement says. The streaming service has been ordered to remove the content in question, especially those targeted at children. The Media Regulatory Office affirms that it will monitor the platform's broadcasts over the next few days and evaluate its adherence to UAE broadcasting regulations. It reiterates that it will follow the "necessary procedures" if the platform broadcasts any content that violates the regulations.
