UAE billionaire shares investment secret during coronavirus

  DUBAI – With businesses taking the hit during the coronavirus pandemic, a UAE-based billionaire shared his investment tip during the economic slump. Rizwan Sajan, founder and chairman of Danube Group, said in a recent webinar that there are still investment opportunities this time. The Indian-born magnate said prices are expected to drop, which can be an opportunity for those with extra money to spend. Sajan is not stranger to spotting good opportunities. He arrived in the UAE in 1991 to work for a building materials trading company on a salary of Dh1,500. Two years later, he and his wife decided to invest all their savings into setting up Danube Building Materials, which became their way to success after the construction boom in the country. What’s a good investment this time? "Prices can fall further - there is no question about it. But as a buyer, you should buy property when prices are falling, rather than rising. There is a lot of bargains in the market and distressed sales because of people losing jobs,” he said during a webinar by the Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC). Sajan also expressed optimism that countries will be able to quickly overcome Covid-19. "Covid-19 is not going to last longer.
