The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather alert warning of possible dust storms and scattered rainfall from Wednesday (November 27) to Friday (November 29). The advisory forecasts significant weather changes, including fluctuating temperatures and rough seas. The NCM indicated that cloud cover would gradually increase over western areas late on Wednesday, spreading toward coastal, northern, and eastern regions by Thursday. Rainfall is expected in these areas before the weather stabilizes by Friday afternoon. Temperatures are forecast to drop during this period, with winds contributing to cooler conditions. The advisory emphasized the impact of wind patterns, with southeasterly to northeasterly winds shifting northwesterly by Thursday. These winds, described as moderate to strong at times, are expected to stir up dust and sand, potentially reducing visibility in affected areas. “The public is advised to exercise caution while driving in dusty conditions and to avoid outdoor activities during periods of low visibility,” an NCM spokesperson stated. The public is also cautioned against venturing into the Arabian Gulf, where sea conditions are expected to range from rough to very rough through Friday. The Oman Sea will experience moderate to rough waves during the same period. Weather experts highlighted that such fluctuations are typical during seasonal transitions. “We are seeing the effects of an atmospheric disturbance, common at this time of year, which brings unstable weather patterns,” said Dr. Khalid Al Abri, a UAE-based meteorologist. Authorities have urged residents to stay updated on weather developments through official NCM channels and take necessary precautions to ensure safety. Here's the 5-day UAE weather forecast:
