A rainy day in Dubai. ARCHIVE
Unstable weather conditions are set to sweep across the UAE in the coming days, driven by a combination of surface and upper air low-pressure systems, according to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM). The weather fluctuations will include rain, gusty winds, and fluctuating temperatures, affecting both land and sea. The NCM explained that a surface low-pressure system extending from the Southeast will interact with an upper air low-pressure system accompanied by a cold air mass and strong upper-air winds from the West. This convergence is expected to result in varying levels of cloud activity, with convective clouds forming at intervals across parts of the country. Rainfall is anticipated over some coastal areas, islands, and the northern and eastern regions, with cloudy to partly cloudy skies prevailing in many areas. Winds will begin as light to moderate southeasterlies before shifting to northeasterly and northwesterly directions. These winds may strengthen at times, leading to blowing dust and reduced visibility in certain land areas. Maritime conditions are also expected to be affected. The Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea could experience moderate to rough seas, particularly in areas with active cloud cover. The NCM advises residents to stay updated on weather forecasts and exercise caution during periods of rain or strong winds. Drivers are urged to maintain safe distances on roads, while boaters and coastal visitors should avoid venturing into rough seas.5-day UAE weather forecast: December 23-27, 2024
