Two Arab nationals have been arrested in the UAE for attempting to smuggle and distribute narcotic pills that they hid inside a modified mechanical excavator. According to the Ministry of Interior, the operation began after monitoring suspicious behavior tied to an international drug trafficking network. Security teams conducted raids on two separate locations. In the first location, a storage facility, the suspects were caught preparing narcotic pills for local distribution. At the second, authorities discovered the excavator where the drugs had been concealed. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to being part of a wider drug ring. One of them had entered the UAE on a visit visa specifically to carry out the smuggling operation. The shipment reportedly originated from Hamburg and was brought through one of the country’s ports. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to cracking down on narcotics smuggling using advanced surveillance and intelligence techniques. ICA/Expat Media
