The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) has recommended that private sector companies implement remote working arrangements wherever possible and minimize the presence of employees in open areas. It is not mandatory, but MOHRE's latest guidance applies to all private sector establishments from Sunday, March 1, until Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Exceptions are allowed for vital and essential roles that require physical attendance. The Ministry clarified that decisions regarding work suspension or adjustments are left to the competent local authorities within their respective jurisdictions, depending on developments in the current situation. “Private sector establishments are advised to obtain information and follow updates from official sources at both federal and local levels,” according to the Ministry. The move comes amid heightened security measures following Iranian-launched missile and drone activity over the UAE since February 28, which prompted airspace closures, temporary flight suspensions, and other precautionary steps across the country.

Schools, universities

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced that all students, faculty, and administrative staff across public and private schools and universities will switch to online learning from Monday, March 2, until Wednesday, March 4.
