Emiratis injured in a deadly road accident in Oman have been airlifted back to the UAE in a joint rescue operation led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mofa), with support from the UAE National Guard and Air Force and Air Defence Command. The victims were flown via air ambulance to Sheikh Khalifa Hospital in Fujairah, where they continue to receive medical treatment. According to Royal Oman Police, the multi-vehicle crash—reported on Friday (July 11)—claimed the lives of five people, including three Emirati citizens. Eleven others were injured, among them nine Emiratis, including five Emirati children. Mofa and the National Guard extended condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a swift recovery to the injured. "We also thank Omani authorities for their swift response and cooperation with the UAE Embassy in Muscat,” the agencies said via state news agency WAM. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash, which reportedly involved multiple vehicles on a major road in Oman. The government has urged all UAE citizens traveling by road to observe speed limits and adhere to traffic safety laws, especially when driving across borders.
