A public relations clerk who stole Dh457,000 from his former employer after being informed of the termination of his employment has been ordered by the court to repay the money. According to court documents, the company filed a lawsuit against its former employee with the Abu Dhabi Family and Civil and Administrative Claims Court, demanding that he repay the company's money that he had illegally taken. The employer explained that the stolen funds were intended to be used to conduct business transactions on behalf of the company. He took the money when he learned that his employment with the company would be terminated soon. The employer presented a report to the court that confirmed that the worker had received the cash from the management. However, he did not submit any document to the accounts department to prove that he had spent the money on any of the company's business transactions. Despite his legal declaration, the employee did not appear in court for the duration of the proceedings. After hearing from the plaintiff and reviewing the evidence, the court issued a ruling ordering the employee to repay the money he illegally took from his former employer. The public relations clerk was also instructed to pay the employer's legal fees. BKM/ Expat Media
