Switzerland is still the world's most competitive nation for the 9th year in a row

  The UAE is the most competitive economy among Arab countries, according to the 2017-2018 Global Competitiveness Report of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Worldwide, the UAE is 17th. The report is an annual assessment of productivity and prosperity factors of countries worldwide. The WEF's report noted that the UAE "improved its absolute assessment and continues to lead the Arab world in terms of competitiveness, but it lost one place on last year as other countries post even larger gains." "This improvement shows the resilience of the UAE economy, in part due to increased diversification, which is reflected in its strengthening macroeconomic environment and its ability to weather the double shock of lower oil and gas prices and reduced global trade.
