Ambassador Lana Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister for Political Affairs and Permanent Representative to the United Nations expressed UAE's strong condemnation of the Taliban's new policy, which bans Afghan women and girls from accessing higher education. The decision gravely jeopardizes the efforts of the international community to negotiate with the Taliban for the benefit of the Afghan people. The UAE reiterates that this decision violates fundamental human rights, goes against Islamic teachings, and needs to be quickly overturned. In collaboration with regional and international partners, the UAE will continue to be unwavering in its long-standing support of and dedication to Afghanistan's sovereignty, stability, security, and prosperity.
