The Al Ain Court for Civil, Commercial, and Administrative Cases has ordered a woman to pay Dh10,000 to a man after she and her husband failed to honor a verbal deal to deliver furniture. According to court documents, the buyer transferred Dh10,000 to the woman’s account based on a verbal agreement with her husband. The payment was made as a deposit for furniture to be delivered to the man’s home. However, no furniture was ever supplied. The buyer presented a bank statement as evidence and attended the court hearing, but the woman failed to appear despite being legally notified. The court issued a decisive oath, a legal mechanism used when evidence is lacking. However, she failed to attend the hearing to take the oath. Due to her absence and lack of further evidence from the defense, the court ruled in favor of the plaintiff and ordered the woman to pay Dh10,000. ICA/Expat Media
