UAE to cut cost of recruiting Indian household workers

  DUBAI - The UAE is negotiating with India on reducing the cost of recruitment for Indian household workers, according to reports on Monday (March 19). According to Emarat Al Youm newspaper, a delegation from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) is in talks with the Ministry of External Affairs in India on the matter. The opening of new Tadbeer centres in the UAE and over government employment agencies in India will also bring down the cost of labour recruitment with a unified system of employment. Last year, the UAE introduced new laws ensuring that household workers are given paid leaves and weekly day off. In 2015, the e-Migrate system was introduced to facilitate the recruitmet of Indian workers.
