Getting a criminal record certificate in the UAE just got significantly faster. The Ministry of Interior (MOI) has announced a new digital authentication system that reduces processing time from six days to just three minutes. The initiative is part of the UAE’s Zero Bureaucracy Program, which aims to streamline government services through digital transformation. The new system eliminates multiple steps by integrating three government transactions into a single digital process.

How to get a criminal record certificate in 3 minutes

Residents, visitors, and GCC nationals can apply for a criminal record certificate via the Ministry of Interior’s official platforms: Website: moi.gov.ae Smart app: MOI UAE To obtain the certificate: 1. Submit an application and provide required details. 2. Pay the applicable fees (starting from Dh50). 3. Complete fingerprint verification (for visitors and GCC nationals). 4. Receive the certificate digitally within 3 minutes. New fees for criminal record certificates • Dh50: Certificate for use within the UAE • Dh100: Certificate for international use • Dh50: Fingerprinting fee (for visitors and GCC nationals) • Dh300: MOFA attestation fee for certificates issued for international use The certificate is available in Arabic and English and remains valid for 30 days from issuance. Certificates intended for use abroad require attestation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA). The MOI emphasized that the new system reflects the UAE’s commitment to simplifying government services and enhancing accessibility for residents and expatriates. “This initiative reduces processing time from six days to just three minutes, eliminating delivery fees and bureaucratic steps,” the ministry stated.
