UAE: Dh1,000 fine, 10 black points for failure to follow 'stop' sign on school buses

Refusing to stop for the left-mounted sign on school buses can be penalized with a Dh1,000 fine and ten traffic points. Abu Dhabi's Department of Municipalities and Transport's Integrated Transport Centre (ICT) said violations of the sign are automatically monitored. Bus drivers are also required to use flashing lights while children cross roads or streets, and supervisors are instructed only to let students get off the bus in the designated zones. After each cycle is complete, ICT has instructed them to make sure the bus is empty. The department has implemented several initiatives that help ensure students' safety on school buses.
