UAE police gave a fresh warning to motorists against overtaking from the hard shoulder, saying that this is a grave traffic violation subject to a fine of Dh1,000. Violators will also be given six black points in their traffic file under the UAE Federal Traffic Law. Abu Dhabi Police shared a video on Friday (January 5) showing the dangers of overtaking. Footage from traffic cameras showed an SUV tailgating other cars before overtaking another vehicle from the hard shoulder. Video clips also showed similar instances of dangerous driving on Abu Dhabi roads. According to Abu Dhabi Police, motorists should refrain from using the hard shoulder, emphasizing that it is designated for emergency vehicles only. ICA/Expat Media
