UAE: Dh500 fine for double parking, blocking vehicles

Motorists and vehicle owners in Sharjah have been warned by the authorities to avoid parking behind vehicles to the extent of blocking vehicular movement, thus obstructing traffic. They could be fined Dh500. In a recent social media post, the Sharjah Police reminded residents that obstructing vehicle movement can lead to traffic congestion and might lead to potentially dangerous consequences. The authorities reiterated the federal traffic law, which states that failure to abide by the traffic rule is punishable by a fine of Dh500. Meanwhile, illegal parking at a bus stop in Abu Dhabi also constitutes a fine of Dh2,000. RZSP/Expat Media
