Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President, has questioned the response of regional organisations amid ongoing tensions. In a statement posted on social media on Monday (March 23), Gargash said: “We in the Arab Gulf states have the right to ask: Where are the institutions of joint Arab and Islamic action, led by the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, while our countries and peoples are subjected to this brutal Iranian aggression?” He added: “And where are the ‘major’ Arab and regional countries?” Gargash also said: “In this absence and helplessness, it is no longer permissible to talk later about the decline of the Arab and Islamic role or to criticise the American and Western presence.” Referring to the role of Gulf states, he said: “The Arab Gulf states have been a support and a partner to everyone in times of prosperity… so where are you today in times of hardship?” In a separate statement, Gargash said the current situation requires solutions that ensure long-term stability. “It is inconceivable that this aggression should turn into a permanent state of threat,” he said. His remarks come as regional tensions continue, with officials across the Gulf monitoring developments and coordinating responses. CAM/Expat Media
