Man killed, ran over twice

A 34-year-old Asian man died after being hit by two cars as he crossed the street from a location not designated for pedestrian crossing. An automobile driven by an Arab struck the victim as he was dragging his bicycle; at the same time, a second car driven by a citizen of the Gulf struck him as well. The man passed away instantly due to the double collision. The Public Prosecution Office accused the defendants in Ras Al Khaimah of ignoring traffic signs and operating their vehicles carelessly, which caused the collision and the victim's death. The Ras Al Khaimah Traffic Misdemeanor Court, fined them each Dh1,500 and ordered them to each pay the victim's heirs Dh66,666 in legal blood money. According to investigations, the victim was crossing the street from right to left when the tragedy happened. The two cars struck him at the same time as he crossed the right lane and entered the space between the middle and left lanes. The car of the second accused, which was in the left lane and had the victim's bicycle trapped in the front of it, caused the most severe crash.
