Do you know someone who's been missing in action from work? UAE employers can now report them to the authorities online. The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has recently released a guide on how companies report absconding or missing-in-action employees through their website. An employee is considered absconding if they are consistently absent from work for seven days without giving prior notice to the employer. Overstaying a visa, working for another employer, and fleeing sponsorship are also considered absconding in UAE. Here's how employers can report absconding cases on MoHRE's website: 1. Log in to MoHRE's website 2. Choose Absconding from the labour disputes list 3. Provide the company code 4. Enter the card number and unified number (if available), then select the concerned person 5. Choose your e-signature option 6. Enter the employee's information 7. Fill the required fields in the Residency File Number 8. Input the applicant's information 9. Lastly, submit the application by clicking Pay Absconding is a serious legal offence in UAE that can get employees fined, detained, deported, travel banned, or blacklisted in immigration systems.
