A deadly altercation erupted in an industrial area of Sharjah, leaving one expatriate dead and two others seriously injured, according to Sharjah Police. The incident on Wednesday (August 28), which started as a dispute over a Dh600 debt, quickly escalated into a violent brawl involving seven individuals. According to Sharjah Police, the conflict began as a heated verbal argument between three brothers and their attackers. The disagreement over the unpaid debt rapidly intensified, leading to the use of sticks and knives in a brutal assault on the brothers. One of the siblings succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the others were rushed to the hospital, with one in critical condition. Eyewitnesses reported that the brawl broke out suddenly, catching the community by surprise. The attackers, all of Asian nationality, fled the scene immediately after the attack, but swift action by the Sharjah Police led to their capture within two hours. The suspects were arrested following intensive search and investigation operations, which included gathering forensic evidence from the crime scene. The seven arrested individuals confessed to the assault, citing a financial dispute as the motive for their actions. They admitted to attacking the brothers with "white weapons" due to the unpaid Dh600 debt. The case has since been referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal procedures. The Sharjah Police emphasized the importance of resolving disputes through legal channels, urging residents to report conflicts that cannot be settled amicably. The authorities reminded the public that the law in the UAE guarantees the rights of all citizens and residents, and any form of violence is unacceptable. "This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the need to adhere to legal processes in dispute resolution," a police spokesperson stated. "Ensuring the safety and security of the community is our top priority, and we appeal to the public to follow the law and help maintain stability and peace." ICA/Expat Media
