The Al Ain Court of First Instance has ordered a fake recruiter to repay Dh31,000 and an additional Dh10,000 in fines after deceiving a man in a recruitment scam involving domestic workers. The plaintiff alleged that he paid Dh31,000 to the suspect, who promised to recruit domestic workers. However, the suspect failed to deliver, prompting the victim to file a lawsuit. Despite being summoned, the suspect neither appeared in court nor presented a defense. The court found sufficient evidence to convict him, noting his prior criminal history in similar cases. The court ordered the suspect to pay the plaintiff Dh31,000 and an additional Dh10,000 for emotional and financial distress. ICA/Expat Media
