UAE-based Filipino workers will soon have a faster and more convenient way to verify their employment contracts, following a new partnership between VFS Global and DBP Data Centre Inc. (DCI), a government-owned corporation in the Philippines. The new service will support the verification of employment contracts for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, with operations set to begin at the end of January. Under the new system, OFWs can book appointments and make payments online before visiting their nearest VFS Global Contract Verification Centre for document submission. Once the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) completes the verification, applicants will receive an email confirming when their documents are ready for collection. OFWs may also choose optional premium services such as courier delivery of documents and real-time SMS updates for an additional fee. VFS Global said the partnership is designed to ensure a secure, transparent and efficient process while improving the overall experience for Filipino workers in the UAE. “This collaboration reflects our continued commitment to supporting overseas Filipino workers through secure, transparent and efficient service delivery,” said Jiten Vyas, Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Business Development at VFS Global. “By enabling in-person initial document verification at our centres, we help ensure greater accuracy, authenticity and compliance.” Contract verification is a critical step for OFWs, as it ensures employment contracts meet Philippine government standards. It is also a key requirement for securing an Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC), which Filipino workers must present before leaving the Philippines for overseas employment. To encourage early use of the service, the contract verification service fee will be waived for the first 30 days of operations. The centres will also offer extended operating hours, seven-day service from Monday to Sunday, and 24/7 helpline support. VFS Global has been working with the Philippine government since 2019, handling passport renewal services in 13 locations worldwide, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi. It also processes Philippine visas for Chinese nationals in multiple cities in China and Hong Kong.
