UAE fines 76 food establishments in inspection campaign

A total of 76 food establishments were fined in Abu Dhabi during an inspection campaign during Ramadan. According to the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA), the inspection campaign aimed to check compliance with food safety regulations in the country. Out of 4,491 food establishments inspected, 2,531 passed while 1,628 were given a warning. The inspections involved supermarkets, restaurants, distribution centres, food stores, catering companies, and markets selling meat, fish, vegetables, and fruits. Inspectors made sure that there were no malpractices in food safety, handling and storage, particularly during Ramadan. The ADAFSA has urged the public to report any violations detected in any food establishment by calling the toll-free number 800555. ICA/Expat Media
