UAE residents can now avail of the emirates’ first of its kind flood and storm damage insurance for vehicles. Al Fujairah National Insurance Company (AFNIC) recently announced the launch of FloodGuard, the first insurance policy in the UAE specifically designed to cover damage from floods and storms, and tempests. This insurance policy is especially significant for motorists whose vehicles are at risk from the increasing occurrences of extreme weather events. FloodGuard offers coverage options of Dh25,000 or Dh50,000 for personal and leisure-use vehicles that are typically ineligible for comprehensive insurance due to age. The policy aims to address a growing concern among vehicle owners following recent bouts of heavy rain in the UAE. “In response to the recent severe weather, we recognized the need for a tailored insurance solution. FloodGuard offers critical protection for motorists who may not have been covered before,” said AFNIC CEO Antoine Maalouli. Policyholders can purchase the policy online through AFNIC’s website or app. ICA/Expat Media
